When i search for one piece I only get an episode guide from 1-80 and i know theres a lot more out there. I want to know how many episode are out in total and if the japanese numbering is the same as the dub. Im up to number 74 in the dub and i want to switch over to subs which would be good site that has episodes in that range?

Start from the beginning.
God the dub I feel for you
Anyway go for http://tracker.kaizoku-fansubs.com/ and I would also suggest starting over again

Start from the beginning, why?
It shows how good One Piece is and what parts the dub removed that made the series better. If you don't want to start from the beginning at least re-watch an old arc subbed to get a feel for what the sub is all about and find out what the dub kept you from seeing.

Is there any direct downloading sites my bit torrent usually averages between 1-5 KB/s and will take a week to download 1 10 episode batch.
I doubt you will find many if any sites for Direct DL for the early eps.

Since the dub skipped entire story arcs like the Dorry and Broggy one, the episode number for the dubs is usually a lot lower.
Like if your watching an episode 70 of the dub it would be like episode 90 in the subs.

If you can't start from the beginning, then downloadling the manga would be my suggestion.
Seriosuly, the One Piece dub is the worse dub of all time. Just by watching it, you HAVE missed more than 1/3 of the original story. The dub cuts out a TON of episodes and scenes in order to make the story seem more simple and childish.
If you want to read the whole manga, you can download it off of www.stoptazmo.com, or you can read it online at: http://groups.msn.com/OnePieceMangav-3/

And the 1/3 part isn't even an exaggeration.

And those two have recently become hugely important without even reappearing.

Well you convinced me to start from the beggining(Yeah I watched the dub), but I got a question, where do the movies fit into the story? Also where are the Dorry and Broggy arcs?

That's Aman's awsome list that has all the fillers, canon episodes, and where the movies and TV specials fit in.
The Dorry and Broggy arcs came before Alabasta. It's the place where they first meet Mr.3 (I think that's him...he was the wax guy) and where Nami gets her sickness from.

More accurately, they come before Drum Island.

I'm assuming you've finished watching the K~F subs?
ADC has subbed the G-8 arc which starts at 196 and goes to 206. Then you can switch to BALf subs up to what they have done, then go to Gerusama fansubs and finally back to ADC who are subbing the current episodes.
I'm pretty sure that's about right :amuse.
