(@Bisuke: You are such a nice friend!- Tu es un muy simpatico/a amigo/a)
Warning: i cant put accent marks and the other fancy stuff spanish has on its words, so i will tell u if the word has an accent mark or not, so for example simpatica-nice has an accent over the first "a".
Lesson 1
Greetings:
Hello=Hola
How are you?=Como estas(unformal), como esta usted(formal)
My name is(there are 2 versions)=Mi nombre es (ur name) or me llamo (ur name)
What is your name: Como se llama
Remember, that anytime you ask a question or use an exclamation point(well if u write it down in spanish, u have to put question marks and e. points on both ends of the question, upside down q. mark for the beginning and regular q. mark at the end. same for the e. points. and u must have an accent on the first word of the question mark if ur asking a regualr question like how are you, how many, who, what, where etc.)I'll tell u how to say how old are you, but that is getting into verbs and that is alittle hard. u say Cuantos anos tienes. Now this is where spanish gets tricky. It's not a hard language to learn, it's just how u put it together. Cuantos anos(upside down s on the n, like this~) tienes literally translates into "how many years do you have?"
Of course to us it just means "how old are you?" When u learn more spanish you will look at funny because you will see that the spanish translates into something that you wouldn't normally say in English. Another example: the year book in spanish is el libro de anos. el libro is the book and anos is years. De means of. So if u put it together in English it means literally "the book of years."The study of the rules whereby words or other elements of sentence structure are combined to form grammatical sentences is called syntax. in other words, how a sentence is ordered. if u get this then post saying yes u do, and if not say no and leave what u didn't get. Next lesson: Lesson 2:The verb "to be"
