I'd say Chopper, Nami, and Robin's backstory were very emotional backstories. I think Chopper got me the most cuz the only person who cared about him died, and Chopper was accidentally involved in it. :cry. It was cool how he wanted to learn from his mistakes and become doctor so that he could become part of the Straw hat crew :) .

Actually my favorite flashback in the series is the Jaya/Sky island flashback. Definately one of the most heart-breaking flashbacks in the series, right up there Franky's, Robin's and Chopper's

I am quiet the fan for Zorros past....dunno found it quiet tragic when kuina died and he took over her dream and wants to become the best swordsman in the world.

but what i find kinda strange is....that to Sanji's, Choppers, Ussops and Nami's past an own arc was made...with an enemy which had has to be defeated, and the friends convinced that they are truly friends...but not (yet) so to Ruffys (okay...the whole series is mostly about him, his past and his dream) Zorro and Robin (i am not so sure with robin...cause i haven't seen the series so far...just made it to the end of the sky pia arc)

I ask my self if there is a little story for them yet to come....cause...for being such a cool character like zorro :wink he could become a more...tragical arc or episode(s)

I can't choose. I like Luffy's because of Shanks, Zoro's because it showed how he got his determination, Usopp's because it was short and sweet, Sanji's because it was sad yet inspiring.

Nami, Chopper, Franky, and Robin had the most emotional ones, however. I probably prefer them because they really moved me.

All of the strawhats' backstorys made sense though Sanji's is my personal favorite. His drive to be a cook, and his search for the 'All Blue', his fighting style, and his vow to feed anyone dying of hunger. All followed up during his back story.

We may try grasp the sands on the oceans of his memories, but like sand perpetually falls to the ground, only remaing a speckle, in our hands.

Such a hard choice. I really like everything about Luffy, he's probably my favorite character in any series at this point and I really enjoyed his backstory, but Nami's and Chopper's backstories were both really touching. I guess I could just leave it at that.

Overall favorite would probably be either Chopper or Robin's. Firstly those two are on par with Ussop as my top favorite three charachters (even if Ussop's past just didn't seem as engrossing as the others). Robin's simply because it was probably the genuinely saddest, seeing her suddenly becoming one of the most infamous "criminals" in the world simply because the Government does not want to be held responsible for past actions.

Second would probably be Chopper, partly because he is one of the others who had the most genuinely lonesome lives but also because the Drum Island arc seriously reminded me of those cheesy older Christmas cartoons/claymations.
