Theory of what One Piece could be

Well, think about this. Gol D. Roger was the king of the pirates, most powerful in the sea, yet he was captured by the Navy? If you think about it, this was after he hid One Piece on the island. Now that seems a bit suspicious, which leads me to believe that One Piece is a source of power, and thats what made him strong. It makes sense plotwise because that would be a way for Luffy and crew to defeat the World Government when they finally found it. Discuss.

No, onepiece is clearly going to be the devils farm. And the Devil is very angry at people for stealling and eating his fruit. And he yells and complains all day long about how hard it is to grow his specail fruit, then punks who want power/money come and take it. This would explain why Gol D roger hide it away, because he didn't want to listen to the nagging. This also explains y he was smiling when he died. He was thinking about how pissed the person who found it would be.

^Yup, I'm a believer of "One Piece is a poneglyph" too.

It's the one piece of lost history the government is trying to hide from the world.

Roger, being able to translate the poneglyphs, discovered the true secret of the lost 100 years, and before his death he forever screwed the Navy over by setting off an age of pirates under the guise of hidden treasure.

Roger died knowing that setting off this age would eventually lead to the truth being revealed.

After THE TRADEGY OF OHARA, I got some theory about the ONE PIECE.

A peaceful world existed before THE BLANK 100 YEARS and it was ruled by a KINGDOM.

One day, a huge PIRATES group declares a war against the kingdom.
The kindom builds PLUTON for the defense force.
But this weapon turns out to be more of ship than a weapon.
THE PIRATES have a hard time fighting against the PLUTON (and almost lose).
But something happens and the KINGDOM loses the war

The PIRATES destroy the KINGDOM and gain world power
To put all this in to a shade, THE PIRATES use PLUTON and stop the waves (from east to west) around the world, so that no one can get to the KINGDOM.
From this THE GRAND LINE and THE FOUR BLUES (OCEANS) forms.

The leftovers from the KINGDOM, spreads around the world to leave whatever knowlegde they could pass on (with PONEGRYPHIES and others)
THE PIRATES claim and call themselves the WORLD GOV.

"IN NAME OF THE JUTICE" the WORLD GOV forms Marine all over the world to search the leftovers.

However, one Pirate (GD Roger) finds the truth to everything after reaching to RAFTEL.
The WORLD GOV excutes the GD ROGER and forms SHICHIBUKAI to destroy all other pirates.

The reason WORLD GOV afraid of the PLUTON is that everything will come out of shade.... with PLUTON, waves can be put back, thus the four oceans can be brought back to one world or to "ONE PIECE" and that is the "TREASURE OF THE WORLD" as GD Roger put it.

*Now, the Ds are also the leftovers of the KINGDOM

Seriously, I don't think it's something significant because what Gold Roger meant by "Becoming the King of Pirates" was probably the fact that the one that finds One Piece will have to beat all the other pirates looking for it thus gaining respect from each defeated crew.

I don't think anyone has ever really said if I remember correctly.

If I'm right, One Piece isn't a thing at all.

I think that when you get to the final island, we'll find Gold Roger's Nakama... his real treasures... the people he loved, and gave himself up to save.

The treasure is one island, completely at peace with the rest of the world. A place that the World Government, for some reason, cannot touch. A place where Gold Roger's Nakama are allowed to live unmolested by the rest of the world.

That'd be in keeping with the theme of the series, that your Nakama are your most precious treasure.

But hey... that's just a thought

actually, if you look at the story line, things keep getting more complex politically. I think that this trend will continue.

So lets say Luffy gets there... and it's Gold D Roger's Nakama there, and their families.

They could be the centrla core of a group who will destroy the despotic world government. Also, look at the group that is coming together behind Luffy in the mini comics at the start of the chapters. We're seeing all of Luffy's foes coming together in a group under Ms Golden week.

Of anyone in the series, Ms. Goldenweek is perhaps the scariest imo. But here's the thing, Luffy gets to the end of the main line, and as we've seen he's declared war on the World Gov't. At that point, the story takes a new twist... 1/2 of the pirates of the world, and some of the nations of the world gov't, vs the other half of the pirates and the remainder of the nations of the world gov't

Luffy has made powerful friends that will side with him should he show that he's actually got some chance to change things.

I mean what an incredible ending that would be, actually going to war with the world gov't for real, and that's the thing, Pirates in the series are all about freedom... Something that we've been shown has absolutely nothing to do with the current world govt in one piece.

It'd be a huge huge HUGE arc. Probably encompassing at least 10 more vols. But One piece has to end at some point. It's passed 40 vols already, and it clearly has a lot of life still in it. But i think that the declaration of war on the World Gov't is the signal that that is the panultimate ending.

We already saw that Gol D. Roger made his mark on the bell thingy and Robins revelation. One Piece has to be the lost 100 years of history or something that will defeat the World Government.

That would be lame IMO, but I think it is a lame 'treasure' anyway... because GR was smiling while he said it. He probably thought it was funny to let so much people look for nothing. I think in the end only people with a right heart understand why OP is such a great treasure. If you read the first issue of the manga , you'll notice that Gold Roger says he gathered all of "Them"

Maybe it's.. shudder... all of the ultimate ancient weapons. Maybe get got the Pluton and the posidon and all the others... and those are the "treasures"

I mean, if you think about it, one peice seems to be of most intrest to pirates, not trasure hunters or the like. what would the ultimate tresure for a pirate be? the ultimate ship.


If it is, it is most likely laden with powerful weapons and all maner of rare artifacts, so it would be quite a thing to find.
