One Piece tells a story of a pirate, Luffy, who wants to be King of Pirates. Not an ordinary pirate, Luffy has has eaten the infamous Devil Fruit that gives him the ability to strech his body but he can't swim.

On his to way to become king of the pirates Luffy starts his own crew, The Strawhat Crew. Luffy isn't the only one with dreams, his other crew members have dreams of becoming the best. Luffy fights villians who have also eaten the devil fruit, which give the user super powers, and on theire journey to glory. Can Luffy be the King of Pirates and find One Piece?

Start the manga on Chapter 1 and the anime on episode 1. it might relieve the feeling of 'emptyness' skipping around chapters/episodes.
