Knives, Legato, and Vash are the strongest in there Universe. Knives being the strongest cause he has both arms to activate both The Black Trigun and the White Trigun.

So speed definatly isn't a factor cause they probably would be at the same speed IF Vash isn't faster.

The brains probably would be a tie. Since both are witty as hell.

So I guess it just comes down to strength. Vash would win. Someone stated that Vash is indeed a plant, and I doubt the MS wouldn't work on Vash because of that fact, and once Vash pulls out the Angel Arm its cookies for Itachi.

I was watching trigun last night and it said the angel arm was only working at 13% power output. Does that mean the hole Vash made in the moon was only 13% of their real power?
